In a touching viral video shared on her TikTok account (@hunterenelson), Hunter Nelson, a 21-year-old woman from Kentucky, has people intrigued.
The video shows Nelson in a car, thinking about life.
“Me driving down the road and realizing I’m 21 with a 15-year-old,” the text read.
Nelson opens up about her experience: “None of the parents or staff at the high school would take me seriously.”
“Wait, You Had Her at 6.”
“…I can already feel people asking me what grade I’m in when I go to her events,” her text continued.
She adds: “How am I gonna teach her how to drive when I can barely get down the road.”
The video, viewed 8.2 million times, confuses viewers due to the age difference.
One person wrote: “Wait, you had her at 6.”
Guardianship
“U WERE SIX WHEN YOU HAD A BABY,” another echoed.
Nelson releases a second video explaining her situation.
She reveals that she “filed for guardianship” of her half-sister, Gracie, from North Carolina.
“Our dad passed away in 2015, and her mom passed away a few months ago,” she explained.
“It’s 100% Legal.”
Fearing foster care for Gracie after her mother’s death, Nelson sought guardianship for her.
Nelson emphasizes, “It’s 100% legal.”
Family issues arise due to her decision, with Nelson admitting her sister initially opposed the move.
Gracie understandably didn’t want a replacement mother.

“You’d be surprised. I have a few students that their siblings have guardianship and they’re the best parents!” One teacher on TikTok revealed.
