Kellie Lewis, a young mother from Swindon, recently had a distressing encounter with a Domino’s pizza delivery driver that left her shocked and disappointed. Here’s the full story.
Three Slices of Pizza Were Missing!
On a rainy July evening, Kellie Lewis treated herself and her husband to a delicious Domino’s pizza.
The couple, exhausted from caring for their four-month-old baby, looked forward to a quiet night with some comfort food.
After placing an order for a large stuffed-crust pizza, priced at £29.49, Kellie eagerly awaited the delivery.
However, upon opening the box, she was horrified that three slices were missing.
“It Was a Mess. Half of It Was Gone, and It Was All Over the Place”
An apparently half-eaten slice inside the box made the situation even more bizarre. Kellie, shocked and disappointed, expressed her frustration at the situation.
She told the local media, “It was a mess. Half of it was gone, and it was all over the place. It looked like it had been half eaten. It’s crazy, there were half slices. About three slices were missing. You get 10 in a large, and we didn’t have 10, we had around seven.
“I hadn’t eaten all day so I just wanted some food before I went to bed. I was starving but I didn’t eat it,” she added.
Kellie quickly snapped a photograph of the pizza box and promptly contacted Domino’s to report the incident.
“The Takeaway Was Fine When It Left the Store”
To her dismay, the branch manager’s response was far from satisfactory. They insisted that the takeaway was fine when it left the store and even hung up on her during their conversation.
The mother said, “The delivery driver couldn’t find me. I stood in the town center in my dressing gown, and it was pouring down with rain. All they kept saying was that they were in a car park, so I was walking around town trying to find my pizza.”
She added, “The delivery driver found me about 15 minutes later, gave me my pizza, and left. So I really don’t know what happened to it during that time.”
She alleged, “I think they got hungry and thought they weren’t going to find me.”
“I’ve Emailed the Shop It Came From and I’ve Had No Response”
Kellie has since claimed she won’t be ordering from Dominos again despite it once being her “go-to takeaway.”
She said, “I’ve emailed Domino’s head office, I’ve emailed the shop it came from and I’ve had no response,”
According to the statement released, the franchise group had since spoken to Kellie and assured her that the issue was resolved to her complete satisfaction.
However, the specifics of how the situation was resolved remained undisclosed.
“I’d Be Fuming To Be Fair”
One Twitter user wrote, “I’d be fuming to be fair.”
Another user commented, “Who pays £30 for Domino’s? There are always offers. Also- as an ex albeit brief Dominos driver, you see so many pizzas just the smell begins to make you sick.”
