“Biden Risks Undoing His Greatest Achievement – Stopping Trump” if He Chooses to Run For Reelection

Democrats with a range of political perspectives have expressed reservations about endorsing President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris as the ideal Democratic presidential ticket for the 2024 election.

Concerns Over Competency Continue

Critics on the left have become increasingly vocal about their concerns regarding Biden’s advancing age and his frequent missteps, as well as Harris’ declining approval ratings.

In a recent op-ed for The Washington Post, David Ignatius voiced his reservations, stating, “I don’t think Biden and Vice President Harris should run for reelection.”

He pointed out that Biden would be 82 years old at the start of a potential second term.

Undoing His Greatest Achievement

Ignatius went on to say, “It’s painful to say that, given my admiration for much of what they have accomplished. But if he and Harris campaign together in 2024, I think Biden risks undoing his greatest achievement — which was stopping [former President] Trump.”

Representative Dean Phillips of Minnesota also expressed doubts, telling NBC News that other candidates have a better chance of winning without the age-related concerns associated with the current president.

Take Off the Blinders!

He questioned why people seem to be moving forward without fully considering the implications, saying, “Why does everyone have blinders on? Why are we essentially being led to this cliff without knowing what’s on the other side?”

Donna Brazile, former chair of the Democratic National Committee, discussed Biden’s age issue over the weekend, emphasizing the need for Democrats to act as if they are trailing by “10 points” to energize voter enthusiasm.

The Focus on Age

She expressed concern about younger voters questioning Biden’s age and urged Democrats to make a compelling case for their candidate.

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough revealed that every Democrat he has spoken to acknowledges concerns about Biden’s age.

He stated, “When I say every discussion, I don’t mean 99% of the discussion — every discussion.”

The White House has consistently defended Biden’s age and cognitive abilities when questioned by the media.

Emphasizing Wisdom

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre emphasized Biden’s wisdom, experience, and historic accomplishments in response to questions about voter concerns regarding his age.

A recent poll by The Associated Press found that 77% of respondents believe Biden may be too old to serve another four years effectively.

This was shared by 89% of Republicans and 69% of Democrats.
