In a recent episode of the podcast “Club Random,” Bill Maher shared his thoughts on the attendees of Donald Trump’s rallies, sparking laughter and discussion among his listeners. Here’s the whole story.
“They Send a Redneck to Washington”
During the recently aired podcast episode, Maher engaged in a lively conversation with Democratic consultant James Carville.
The two discussed the type of people who typically attend Trump’s events, particularly in light of an incident involving Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert.
Carville said, “The date they had the Lauren Boebert incident in Denver, Politico ran a story that she had become a Washington insider.”
This prompted Maher to say, “When they send a redneck to Washington, they do not f*** around.”
Trump Rallies Attendees
Maher’s comment drew laughter from his podcast guest and set the tone for their discussion about Trump rally attendees.
Carville remarked on the humorous interviews conducted with people at Trump rallies, noting that some of the comments can be pretty amusing.
Carville added, “Don’t you love when they go and interview these people at a Trump rally? It’s amusing. Of course, they have somebody yelling ‘Trump grab my p****!’ and you look at her and they ain’t nobody wanna get within a mile of your p****.”
The conversation then shifted to Maher’s thoughts of those who attend Trump’s rallies.
“Deplorable”
He didn’t hold back, describing them as “the worst.”
Maher even humorously questioned Carville, “You said before, some of them are deplorable. Yes. Some of them are. If you’re actually getting your a** out to go to a Trump rally, I mean, what, you don’t have the grades to get into the tractor pull?”
Then the two talked about the upcoming presidential election, with both agreeing that Biden has a low chance of winning against Trump.
“Right now, let’s assume the election was November the third of this year, and they said two candidates are Joe Biden, the Democrat, Donald Trump, the Republican, Joe Manchin and Larry Hogan, No Labels, and Cornel West, Trump would be a betting favorite,” Carville said.
“I Am Afraid of Trump”
“Totally. I think we’re on the same page with Biden. Did a great service but whereas in 2020, maybe he was the only one who could have beaten Trump, I think now he’s the only one who will lose to him,” Maher replied.
This isn’t the first time Bill Maher has commented on Donald Trump and the state of American politics.
In February, Maher confessed his fear of Trump.
He said, “I am afraid of Trump on a very personal level because I don’t think he likes me. I understand why. And I don’t know what he would do in a second term.”
“He’s Always Guilty”
Regarding Trump’s impeachment, Maher commented, “You can’t go after him because he’s always guilty. It’s almost Greek tragedy-like because you set off this cycle of revenge like The House of Atreus. And I guarantee you when Joe Biden is out of office, Day Two, they will try to arrest him.”
Several social media users shared their thoughts on the incident.
One Twitter user wrote, “Can’t agree more with Bill Maher…even though I don’t like him personally.”
“If Corrupt Criminal Trump Wins”
Another user added, “If Corrupt Criminal Trump wins in 2024 America loses and Democracy will be destroyed. What kind of person would vote for Trump who said he’s planning to increase the power of the Executive Branch (Dictatorship)Censor News Stations, side with Adversaries, and place himself before America.”
A third user commented, “It is hilarious that those pushing for democrat leadership are throwing grandpa under the bus. Guess their pick is killing their bottom line now. You chose the ‘me’ first party and this is what you get!”
