In recent decades, Call of Duty has become one of the most popular first-person shooter franchises. The series is unique, however, in that the majority of it does not take place in the realm of science fiction, rather it is based on wars that have taken place in real life or could take place in the future.

Call Of Duty Net Worth
According to estimates, the Call of Duty franchise earned $9.7 billion, an astounding amount that places it on par with some of the biggest entertainers of all time.
In reality, the $9.7 billion estimate turned out to be too low because Activision reported that Call of Duty generated more than $11 billion in revenue so far.
To put this into perspective, it means that over the years the Call of Duty franchise has been able to earn more revenue compared to the total box office revenue of all Star Wars movies combined over the years, which is astounding in light of Star Wars’ immense cultural impact.
This $11 billion figure does not represent the franchise’s value, but rather its earnings so far.
Developers
The game was originally developed by Infinity Ward. The list of developers was subsequently expanded with more developers joining the list, such as Sledgehammer Games, Treyarch, TiMi Studios, and Raven Software. Activision Blizzard is the company that publishes Call of Duty.
Owner
The company behind Call of Duty, Activision Blizzard, is owned by Bobby Kotick. A 1963 born American businessman, Kotick has achieved success throughout his career.
At first, he worked for a number of tech companies as a head of operations. Eventually, in 1990, he acquired shares in the company he was to lead, Activision. After becoming a shareholder he was appointed CEO of the company a year later.
The Call Of Duty franchise’s success
At a conference call held on Thursday, the company’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Daniel Alegre shed light on the figure. “It makes it one of the most successful entertainment franchises ever,” said the president.
The CEO of Call of Duty, Bobby Kotick, has also revealed that over 250 million people have registered for Call of Duty in 2020, compared to 70 million in 2018.
