As the political landscape heats up in anticipation of the 2024 presidential election, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis says he finds himself at the center of a barrage of attacks from various political quarters. Here’s the full story.
He Poses a Genuine Threat to His Political Rivals
In a recent interview, DeSantis addressed the ongoing onslaught of insults and criticisms that he has been subjected to.
Rather than being discouraged by these attacks, he views them as indicators that he poses a genuine threat to his political rivals.
He stated, “I get attacked by the left, I get attacked by the Democrats, [Joe] Biden, [Kamala] Harris, the media, [Donald] Trump so I must be somebody that they consider to be a threat.”
DeSantis further elaborated on his approach to the criticism, emphasizing that being targeted by opponents is a sign that he is hitting the mark.
His Primary Focus Is on Winning the Election and Making a Positive Impact
He said, “Look, when they’re attacking you, that means you’re over the target. So, we’re happy to field that and we’ll hold our own.”
He emphasized that his primary focus is on winning the election and making a positive impact, rather than pursuing personal gain or other motives.
DeSantis said, “At the end of the day, I am running to actually win the presidency and do all these great things.”
“I don’t have any other motive. I don’t want to get a cable news deal. I am not trying to sell anything I don’t want a cabinet post,” he added.
His Administration Has Delivered on Its Promises
He pointed out that his administration has delivered on its promises and achieved positive outcomes for the state, a feat that resonates with voters who are weary of politicians who overpromise and underdeliver.
He stated, “We’ve actually delivered on everything that we’ve promised and over-delivered in many respects, and that’s what we need in Washington.”
DeSantis also underscored the current political moment’s urgency, saying, “The time for excuses is over. We gotta get the job done.”
“We gotta beat Biden, you gotta get in there. We will do it because at the end of the day, you know our country is in decline and we need to reverse the decline,” he added.
“He Gets Attacked Because He Says Stupid Things Like Slavery Is Good for You”
Several social media users shared their thoughts on the talk.
One user wrote, “He gets attacked because he says stupid things like slavery is good for you, and let’s shoot missiles at our neighbors, who happen to be a sovereign country.”
Another user added, “The Florida Fuehrer sure has an inflated ego, doesn’t he? Though he IS a threat … to our Democracy and HUMANITY!”
