Social media has been divided by a TikTok video that shows one of the Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices at Disneyland, but this one looks nothing like you’d expect!
Fairy Godmother Welcoming Kids
Nick, a Disneyland employee dressed as a ‘Fairy Godmother’s apprentice,’ creates a moment of enchantment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Anaheim, California.
The Boutique in Disneyland, California, is widespread, especially for young visitors.
Staff members dress as the iconic Fairy Godmother and offer to help the kids choose outfits they’d like to wear.
Kournti Farber, a mother of three, captured Nick, a man, greeting the kids at the door and welcoming them in.
Kids Were Unfazed
The twist was that Nick, a man with a mustache, was wearing the Fairy Godmother dress as he welcomed the kids.
It’s worth noting that when the kids receive their 5-star treatment, they have the biggest smiles on their faces, utterly unfazed by Nick.
While many embrace Nick’s role, some believe Disney’s quest for inclusivity has crossed a line.
Twitter users express concerns about ‘Nick’ in a traditionally feminine role, suggesting it disrupts the magic.
One TikTok user admitted, “I’m already boycotting Disney, so should everyone else.”
Until recently, the workers at the Boutique were called “Fairy Godmothers In Training,” but now Disney has changed them to “Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices” to make it gender-neutral.
“I’ll never take my kids to Disney,” another Twitter user stated.
Some TikTok users showed their support for Nick, “Umm excuse ME can Nick be my bff? This made me tear up. Good job, Disney.”
If you and your kids were greeted at the door by Nick, would you care? Or do you want your kids to have the best time possible? Let us know in the comments.
