Former adult film star Mia Khalifa was once the most-watched actress on “that” adult website. Still, now she’s giving marriage advice to women, and it’s certainly ruffled the feathers of some men on the internet.
Views on Marriage
Mia Khalifa, a former adult film actress turned social media personality, is now turning heads with her views on a different subject – marriage.
Khalifa’s marriage life has seen its share of ups and downs, from divorcing her high school sweetheart to her failed marriage with a professional chef, Robert Sandberg.
In a recent TikTok video, Khalifa delivered a raw take on her experiences with marriage, which left the online world confused.
With multiple engagements and marriages behind her, Khalifa certainly spoke with experience, but that didn’t stop the men of the internet from hitting back.
“Marriage Is Not a Sanctimonious Thing”
Mia embraced her failed marriages and engagements, boasting, “First marriage? Married at 18, divorced at 21. Second marriage? Married at 25, divorced at 28. Third engagement? Engaged at 29, ended it at 30.”
Khalifa’s TikTok statement said, “We should not be afraid to leave these men. Marriage is not a sanctimonious thing. It is paperwork,” implying that women shouldn’t feel guilty for wanting a divorce.
Khalifa’s perspective on marriage emphasized, “If you feel like you’re not getting enough out of that commitment then you gotta go. You gotta go!”
Khalifa’s post went viral rapidly and ignited a global debate, with men slamming her for her controversial views.
“Married Means For Better or for Worse.”
One TikTok user argued that Khalifa failed to understand the point of marriage, “Sounds like someone didn’t get the point of being married… what it means!”
Another user said you have to fight for your marriage to work, “Married means “for better or for worse.” You have to get through the tough stuff.”
TikTok is divided, with some praising her for her views, “Marriage is paper work” I need that on a Tshirt,” one jested.
Another TikTok user compared Khalifa’s rant to that of the informative Ted Talks, “You have been my Ted talk for today. Thank you for your service.”
