Overview
Fortnite has become widely popular among multiplayer games online. There are more than 350 million active users on the platform at the moment.
Every year since 2018, more than a billion dollars has been generated by the game. Fortnite has been released on nearly every platform (such as smartphones and tablets).
Fortnite differs from the rest of the battle royale games out there for its lack of violence and gore, focusing instead on cartoony graphics and colorful equipment. It’s pretty famous among teens and preteens.
Development
Epic Games released Fortnite in 2017 as an online video game. Currently, Fortnite includes two games: Fortnite: Save the World, a team-based survival shooter, and Fortnite: Battle Royale, a last-player-standing game.
An early access version of the former was released in July 2017. Originally, a free-to-play version was expected in 2019, however Epic has since confirmed that the game will not be made free-to-play. The game is compatible with PS4, XBox One, macOS, and Windows.
However, it is the latter that has been the biggest hit, ranking as the world’s most popular game.
