Jill Biden has tested positive for the new COVID-19 variant despite being vaccinated with the booster jab recently recommended by the President. Trump has slammed the administration for trying to “Scaremonger” the public before the election.
Jill Biden Tests Positive
First Lady Jill Biden tests positive for coronavirus, sparking concern for her health at the White House.
Despite the positive test, the 72-year-old first lady is said to be experiencing only mild symptoms and has chosen to remain at their Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, residence.
Contrary to Jill’s diagnosis, President Joe Biden has tested negative for COVID so far, providing a glimmer of relief for the White House.
The couple spent Sunday night at their Rehoboth Beach home before President Biden’s Labor Day trip to Philadelphia for a speech to union workers.
Secret Service Upgrade
Before the trip, the president spent several hours at their Wilmington home, currently undergoing Secret Service upgrades, before returning to Washington, D.C., for the workweek.
Jill Biden’s spokesperson, Elizabeth Alexander, confirmed the diagnosis on Monday, stating, “This evening, the First Lady tested positive for COVID-19.”
Alexander added, “She is currently experiencing only mild symptoms. She will remain at their home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.”
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced, “Following the First Lady’s positive test for COVID-19, President Biden was administered a COVID test this evening. The President tested negative.”
Taking Antiviral Paxlovid
Dr. Biden had previously contracted COVID in August and had been treated with the antiviral Paxlovid, experiencing a rebound case shortly after.
President Biden himself had tested positive for COVID in July, similarly receiving Paxlovid treatment and subsequently encountering a rebound case.
Both the president and first lady had been vaccinated and received booster shots, but the virus still managed to affect them.
President Biden scheduled to attend the G20 summit in New Delhi, India, later that week, while the first lady had no plans to attend.
Jean-Pierre emphasized, “The President will test at a regular cadence this week and monitor for symptoms” as COVID cases surge.
Despite the rising cases, neither the president nor the first lady had recently been seen wearing masks in public.
Dr. Anthony Fauci’s recent statement acknowledging limited data on mask efficacy against virus spread, “When you’re talking about the effect on the epidemic or the pandemic as a whole, the data are less strong.”
COVID Fear-Mongering to Aligning with Election?
Former President Donald Trump, who battled COVID himself in 2020, recently commented on the new variants and perceived fear-mongering regarding lockdowns and mandates.
Trump expressed concerns about the left’s intentions, suggesting a connection between COVID concerns and the upcoming election.
Trump stated, “The left-wing lunatics are trying very hard to bring back COVID lockdowns and mandates with all of their sudden fear-mongering about the new variants that are coming. Gee whiz, you know what else is coming? An election.”
Mail-In Ballot Fears
He recalled the controversies surrounding the 2020 election, with the pandemic prompting widespread use of mail-in ballots, “’They want to restart the COVID hysteria so they can justify more lockdowns, more censorship, more illegal dropboxes, more mail-in ballots and trillions of dollars in payoffs to their political allies heading into the 2024 election.”
Trump vowed not to let history repeat itself, resisting potential lockdowns, censorship, and vaccine mandates.
