Trump expressed his views on this development through his Truth Social platform. In his statement, Trump highlighted the environmental aspects of the decision, accusing Biden of breaking “every environmental law in the book” to validate Trump’s approach when he was in office.
Trump wrote, “So interesting to watch Crooked Joe Biden break every environmental law in the book to prove that I was right when I built 560 miles … of a brand new, beautiful border wall.”
“As I have stated often, over thousands of years, there are only two things that have consistently worked, wheels, and walls!” he added.
Apology for “15 Million Illegal Immigrants” Requested
The former president continued by questioning Biden’s handling of immigration issues and the delay in addressing border security concerns.
Trump raised concerns about the influx of illegal immigrants, noting that they came from “places unknown.” He wrote, “Will Joe Biden apologize to me and America for taking so long to get moving, and allowing our country to be flooded with 15 million illegal immigrants?”
Trump concluded by writing, “I will await his apology!”
The decision to waive federal laws and proceed with border wall construction has sparked controversy and opposition among supporters of the Biden administration.
“Not Another Foot” of the Wall Was to Be Built
During his 2020 presidential campaign, President Biden promised that “not another foot” of the border wall would be built if he assumed office.
However, the appropriation of funds for the border wall had already been established before Biden’s presidency. Biden addressed this issue in a statement, explaining that he attempted to redirect the allocated funds but was constrained by existing legal provisions.
He said, “I’ll answer one question on the border wall: The border wall — the money was appropriated for the border wall. I tried to get them to reappropriate it, to redirect that money. They didn’t, they wouldn’t. And in the meantime, there’s nothing under the law other than they have to use the money for what it was appropriated. I can’t stop that.”
Biden’s immigration and border security policies have been a recurring subject of discussion and scrutiny during his presidency.
Illegal Immigration Had Significantly Decreased?
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced criticism for her assertion that illegal immigration had significantly decreased under the Biden administration, with some accusing her of spreading misinformation.
She said, “He has tools that he’s used to make sure we do this. We actually deal with the immigration system in a humane way, in a way that actually deals with what we’re seeing at the border. When it comes to illegal immigration, you’ve seen it come down by more than 90 percent. And that’s because of this, the actions that this president has taken.”
