Knife Aid Shark Tank Deal and Current Status
The company is still operating today, and its services are available online, or you can visit their California headquarters in person.
They handle orders ranging from four to fourteen knives. Shark Tank gave them considerable exposure in 2020, when they struck a deal for $500,000 with Lori and Rohan at 20%.
Sadly, following the episode, Lori and Rohan’s deal did not go through. Knife Aid is still going strong in spite of this setback.
Knife Aid Owner/Founder
Knife Aid was founded by Marc Lickfett and Mikael Soderlindh, two Swedish entrepreneurs. Mark owns King & McGaw company, an art printer and framer, and Mikael founded Happy Socks, a Swedish retailer of socks. Each company has been in business for more than a decade.
Marc Lickfett and Mikael Soderlindh History
As Marc and Mikael began their business partnership, their vision was to establish a sustainable company that makes use of what people already have.
Their discovery was that the process of sharpening a knife can take a no-longer-usable item and repurpose it into something you will retain and use for years to come.
Sadly, the age-old skill of performing expert blade repairs is also disappearing. Sharpened knives are actually safer, as most knife accidents result from using dull knives. In order to make knife sharpening the most convenient process in America, their goal was to simplify the process.
