Sand Cloud is a non-profit lifestyle company that specializes in handmade Turkish beach towels.
The company’s products include shirts, towels, and accessories, all of which can be purchased online through the company’s platform, which encourages the preservation of marine life.
Founder Of Sand Cloud
Three beach lovers from San Diego, California founded the company: Brandon Leibel, Steven Ford, and Bruno Aschidamini. The intention of Sand Cloud was to allow people to take more comfortable naps at the beach.
Their Kickstarter campaign was successful, raising $15,623 for their startup in 2014. Ten percent of the earnings from sales go to organizations with a focus on conservation and environmental protection.
Sand Cloud Shark Tank Deal
Brandon Leibel, Steven Ford, and Bruno Aschidamini pitched Sand Cloud, a collection of towels that have inserts for comfort, in episode 18 of Shark Tank, asking the Sharks for assistance to get the towels into stores.
They wanted $200,000 in exchange for 8% of the company with a value of $2.5 million.
All of the Sharks were amazed by Sand Cloud’s sales. In 2016, Sand Cloud earned $2.4 million. Kevin offered $200k for 15% of the company; Robert gave his same offering and was just as pleased with the products as he was with the team.
Roberts’ offer was accepted and the players walked away with a deal.
