After it was revealed that a US Military General made a phone call to Chinese authorities reassuring them that Trump was not going to attack, Trump and other political figures took to Truth Social to hurl death threats at the veteran serviceman.
Trump Threatened a Top US Military General
Former President Donald Trump took to social media, suggesting that Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley should face a sentence of death for his actions following the January 6 Capitol insurrection.
This appalling statement that was posted on Trump’s platform Truth Social has sent shockwaves through the nation, as it directly threatens a top US military general.
Adding fuel to the fire, Trump also condemned Milley for what he deemed a horrendously handled Afghanistan withdrawal, accusing him of incompetence that led to the loss of lives, the abandonment of American citizens, and valuable military equipment left in the war-torn country.
Trump Accuses Milley of Undermining His Authority
Trump accused Milley of assuring China that the former president would not attack them to deescalate tensions between the two superpowers, accusing Milley of “Dealing with China to give them a heads up on the thinking of the President of the United States.”
Trump followed in his post by saying, “This is an act so egregious, in times gone by, the punishment would have been DEATH!!!”
Calls for Responsible and Measured Speech
Such inflammatory language from a former President has left citizens and lawmakers alike calling for responsible and measured speech, urging public figures to consider the implications of their words on the nation’s stability and unity.
Mark Milley, a highly regarded military general, spent decades serving his country, making Trump’s allegations and calling for such extreme measures all the more shocking.
Milley Responds to Accusation
Milley explained the phone call as follows: “I know, I am certain, that President Trump did not intend to attack the Chinese, and it was my directed responsibility to convey presidential orders and intent.”
“My task at that time was to de-escalate.” he continued, “My message again was consistent: Stay calm, steady, and de-escalate. We are not going to attack you.”
“Treasonously Working Behind Trump’s Back”
In an equally concerning development, Rep. Paul Gosar, a far-right legislator, resorted to homophobic and violent language against Milley, calling him “the homosexual-promoting-BLM-activist Chairman of the military joint chiefs.”
Gosar continued by blaming Milley for the delayed deployment of the National Guard during the January 6th riots, “we now know that the deviant Milley was coordinating with Nancy Pelosi to hurt President Trump, and treasonously working behind Trump’s back.”
Legislator Also Used Threatening Language
Even Gosar followed in Trump’s footsteps by adding, “In a better society,” General Milley “Would be hung.”
The shocked public is now demanding accountability and urging authorities to address these instances of hateful rhetoric.
