Former President Donald Trump offered his thoughts on the recent indictment of Hunter Biden on three gun-related charges during this week’s “Meet the Press.” Here’s the whole story.
Hunter’s “Deal of the Century”
Host Kristin Welker raised a poignant question to Trump, asking, “The president’s son, Hunter Biden, was indicted by a federal grand jury on three gun charges. Given that, Mr. President, can you continue to say that there are two systems of justice?”
In response, Trump said, “Well, I think there’s no question about it. He had a plea deal that was the deal of the century. The art of the deal, you could write a book on it. The art of the deal.”
“A Brilliant Judge”
“And all of a sudden it was broken up by a judge who was able to – a brilliant judge, actually, who was able to see through what was happening,” he added.
He then drew parallels between his own experiences and those of Hunter Biden, asserting that he had been under investigation since the outset of his political career.
“I’m not happy about it. Nobody is. It’s a very sad thing. It’s so bad for our country. But you know, if you think about it, I’ve been under investigation from the day I came down the escalator. A phony investigation. Fake investigations. Investigations that I beat every single time. Still under investigation,” he said.
“It’s a very sad thing. And it’s a slippery slope, and dangerous, very dangerous for our country,” he added.
According to the charges leveled against Hunter Biden, two of them carry a maximum prison sentence of 10 years, while the third is capped at five years.
Additionally, all three charges are associated with a maximum fine of $250,000.
Despite the severity of the allegations, both Hunter Biden and his father, President Joe Biden, have refrained from commenting on the situation publicly.
In the wake of the indictment, President Biden appeared to remain focused on his official duties.
Biden Not Addressing Scandal
During a public address at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland, just hours after the news of his son’s indictment broke, he did not mention the scandal and seemed to be in good spirits.
Several social media users shared their thoughts on the incident.
One user wrote, “Why are Dems so scared of Hunter? And why are they lying in order to defend Hunter and Joe?”
“Hunter Biden is an Addict”
Another user added, “No! It’s a happy situation. He belongs in prison with his old man.”
A third user commented, “Hunter Biden is an Addict like Joe Biden is. Though One would realize, Living in DC, how or why Biden would need to carry a Firearm.”
