In a speech delivered at Windham High School’s gymnasium in New Hampshire, former President Donald Trump made a series of promises, threw potshots at political rivals, and highlighted his continued popularity among Republican voters. Here’s the full story.
He’ll Halt Funding of Transgender Surgeries
Trump’s speech began with a pledge to halt the Department of Veterans Affairs’ funding of transgender surgeries if he regained power in the next election.
Trump said, “I will ban the Department of Veterans Affairs from wasting a single cent to fund transgender surgeries or sex change procedures. Those precious taxpayer dollars should be going to care for veterans in need, not fund radical gender experiments for the Communist left.”
While discussing policy matters, Trump couldn’t resist taking a potshot at fellow Republican Chris Christie, who is also in the political fray.
“Christie, he’s eating right now. He can’t be bothered,” Trump mocked.
“Sir, Please Do Not Call Him a Fat Pig”
Then a person from the crowd shouted out, “Fat pig,” allowing Trump to use his rhetorical techniques, the repetitive anti-insult insult.
“Sir, please do not call him a fat pig,” said Trump.
That’s very disrespectful. Don’t call him … See I’m trying to be nice. Don’t call him a fat pig. You can’t do that,” Trump added.
The former President also addressed the issue of veterans’ homelessness, describing it as a “scandal” and a “disgrace.”
“And I Will Redirect That Money To Provide Shelter and Treatment for Homeless American Veterans”
He asserted his commitment to eradicating veterans’ homelessness and redirecting funds from the shelter and transport of illegal immigrants to provide proper shelter and treatment for homeless American veterans.
Trump said, “On day one, I will sign an executive order to cut off Joe Biden’s massive spigot of funding for the shelter and transport of illegal aliens, which our country can’t handle.”
“And I will redirect that money to provide shelter and treatment for homeless American Veterans. They’ll be treated properly,” he added.
“He’s Like the 77-Year-Old Playground Bully at This Point”
